In general, foods that are rich in calories are not healthy. So, fried foods or fatty foods are generally unheatlhy. This is why we see so much heart disease and cancer in countries and states where people are overweight, obese, and inactive.
So, how about Korean food?
In general, Korean food isn't fried or too greasy. There are exceptions to that, but most Korean dishes are not too dense in calories. Korean food may be spicy, and that can be unhealthy for a variety of reasons.
Koreans don't tend to be too overweight or obese compared to people living in many other countries. Koreans tend to exercise fairly regularly. They engage in martial arts like Tae Kwon Do.
I'm Dr. Joseph Chaiwhan Kim and I'm a Korean Foodie and I'm also an M.D. I'm here to talk about Korean food and our health.
